County Cricket Club.

With a bumper cricket season on the horizon and Cardiff being hosts to four ICC Cricket World Cup matches this year, including England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and World Cup Qualifier Champions Afghanistan, Wild Water Group are pleased to announce the signing of a new sponsorship deal with Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

The 5-year partnership deal includes retaining the naming rights to the ‘The Wild Water Lounge’, one of Glamorgan’s premium hospitality and event lounges within The Really Welsh Pavilion at Sophia Gardens.

Sitting on the second floor of the Discover Leeks Pavilion, the elevated function venue includes an adjoining open-air terrace and is renowned to offer one of the best panoramic views of Sophia Gardens and surrounding areas.

Ken Rattenbury, Managing Director of Wild Water Group said, “It’s an exciting period generally within Wild Water Group as we are on a major expansion drive, so to secure this partnership and be able to build on our existing relationship with Glamorgan County Cricket Club is another win for us this year.

“We are really honoured to be associated with such a prestigious Welsh sports organisation and all the fantastic work that they do.

“The added bonus for us fans this year will be watching all the Cricket World Cup heavyweights battling it out on our home turf at Sophia Gardens.”

Apart from regular cricket functions, the lounge is also marketed for mid-sized conferences and events, which can include boardroom meetings, dinner and dances, and even theatre or cabaret functions.

“If you really want to experience a great day out, Wild Water Lounge has one of the best views of the wicket and you really get to feel part of the game,” says Ken. “We are also close to the Players’ Dining Room and I often hear people say they have just bumped into ‘so and so’ in the corridor.”

Head of Commercial at Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Huw Warren, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Wild Water Group and retain our strong links with another leading Welsh business.

“Signing on a long-term basis as a box holder and sponsor endorses our ongoing commercial strategy at the club to work with companies who are keen to develop sport in Wales and are invested in supporting Welsh cricket.

“We’re excited for the season ahead and look forward to continuing to work closely with Wild Water Group over the next five years and hopefully beyond.”
