Port of Cardiff security signs changed to French
during filming of “The War of the Worlds”

Five of Wild Water Transport’s trucks, fridges and curtain sided trailers recently found themselves on the set of ‘The War of the Worlds’, a TV adaption of the H G Wells alien invasion story that is currently being filmed in various locations across Wales and to be aired later in the year.

The transport fleet units were strategically placed during a night shoot at the Port of Cardiff (ABP) as part of the process to mimic the Port of Calais in France, in which the action scene was set.

The Cardiff Ports security entrance also underwent a complete transformation with all the health and safety signage being replaced by French signs to authenticate the look of the French Port.

James Pirie, Transport Manager for the Wild Water Group said, “It was amazing to watch the effort they put into the construction of the film set. They removed all the English signs and replaced them with new French signs and then painstakingly aged each one by spraying on mud and dirt.”
